Lluvia Has Arrived
The rain came in today. It has slowed work down on the outside for a little while. Work on the inside continues.
Mucho Trabajo
For the last three days we have been pretty busy. We worked on metal tubing that we have to clean and paint. Then they arewelded together to make frames for the second floor above the old sanctuary.
There is a second crew inside the old sanctuary working on a new wall and putting in new counter tops for the kitchen. The third crew is working on top of the old sanctuary where they are installing the framing for the new building.
Today we also had two of the frames mounted on the second floor. It’s very big, very heavy and very high.
The team is doing very well, we have all bonded together. We are from four different cities in three different states. Pictures are being uploaded but will take a couple hours. I will post a link when they are finished.
A Word from Charles
Hello to all,
You haven’t been gone but a few hours and yet my thoughts have been constantly with you and your mission.
I’m reminded of Paul’s travels as he constantly proclaimed God’s word and testified to the name of Jesus.
If you give it some prayerful thought, I think you’ll find that your mission is much like Pauls.
No matter where Paul’s travels carried him, he was always praising God’s eternal name.
You, brothers and sisters, are charged to do the same in the name of Christ Jesus our gracious Lord.
Do not just speak it….shout it.
Do not just proclaim it….declare it.
Perhaps the Psalmist says it best:
I will praise you, O Lord with all my heart;
I will tell of all your wonders.
I will be glad and rejoice in you;
I will sing praise to your name, O Most High.
Psalm 9:1-2
God’s eternal peace be with you all.
I remain in His service,
Charles Pope
Did You Say Concreto?
Our flights went well. We arrived on time and made it to the church. After lunch we started working. Ran a batch of concrete and started prepping the metal tubes so we can start tomorrow morning.
Early Departure
The Corinth team met us this morning at the church and we are off to the airport. 4:00 am come early. A lot of sleepy eyes but all with big smiles. This brings our total to 25. Only 2 more to add to our team and we will pick them up in Atlanta.
We are finally on the plane. Getting through TSA was fine but the line was long. The last couple of team members made it with 5 minutes to spare.
The captain said we should take off in about 5 minute.
Here us a picture of a couple happy campers.
2011 Kick Off

Part of our team gathered for supper and communion Sunday evening. We will meet up with the rest of our team Monday, July 18 at the Atlanta Airport. Can’t wait to see them.
